At some time in your life, you or someone you know needs to have the assistance of a Registered Nurse in an advocacy role. What Barbara Dugger, RN, does for patients is fulfill a private nursing role that promotes patient independence in a way that is different than the services of a caregiver or visiting nurse.

What is a Nurse Advocate?

YOUR PERSONAL NURSE ADVOCATE takes on specific aspects of patient care to:

• ensure clear communication between patient and the healthcare system
• accompany patients to office visits and procedures
• accompany patients home after a procedure to monitor their progress
• review, monitor and help manage medications and possible side effects
• reduce incidents of overmedication and dosage errors
• communicate with a family representative if the patient's family is not in the area
